Your adventure kicks off with a 6:00 am check-in and a thrilling 7:00 am departure in an open-air 4x4, keeping you fully immersed in the wild right up until your 11:00 am return—complete with a scenic 9:30 am refreshment stop to stretch your legs—leaving you with plenty of time to safely make your flight.
Guests must self-drive and meet directly at Schotia Safaris Reception Headquarters (located at the corner of the N10 highway and Addo Heights Dirt Road turn-off, roughly 3km from Nanaga Farmstall).
- Thick jacket or fleece: Open safari vehicles generate a freezing wind chill before the sun warms up.
- Beanie, scarf, and gloves: Vital for the 6:00 am arrival and the first two hours of driving.
- Long pants and closed shoes: Keeps the cold air and bush brush off your legs and feet.
- Sunglasses and a sun hat: The African sun gets intense very quickly by mid-morning.
- Camera or smartphone: For capturing close-up wildlife shots.
- Binoculars: Helpful for spotting birds or animals tucked further into the thickets.
- Power bank: Cold morning temperatures drain phone and camera batteries much faster.
- Water bottle: While a short refreshment stop is included at 9:30 am, no breakfast is provided on this 4-hour drive.
- Sunscreen and lip balm: Protection against both the early morning wind and the later morning sun.
Tips/Gratuities: If your ranger guide provides exceptional service, it is customary to tip them in cash at the end of the night
No medication is available. Please bring your own i.e Epi-pen, headache, motion-sickness etc.
Because you are sharing the open game-viewer with other travellers. Please make sure you arrive no later than 6:30 for a strickt departure time at 7:00am. We cannot turn back to fetch late arrivals whatsoever.
